Orbital Re-form for Big Chill 2009!

Five years after leaving us with a triumphant "last" (OK, not quite last, but you know what I mean) gig on The Other Stage at Glastonbury the Hartnoll brothers Paul and Phil will once more don those glasses and perform together as their seminal British Dance/Rave act Orbital for the Big Chill festival in August 2009.

I can't believe it, I'm a massive Orbital fan, in fact they're probably my favorite band, having provided both the soundtrack and the visuals for a lot of my more formative years with both seminal festival performances such as Glastonbury 1994, 1995, 2002 and finally 2004 for just one festival, and some of the best gigs I've ever been to, Bristol Colston Hall in 1999, a "proper" classical music venue, with people standing on the seats raving which really had to be seen to be believed!

When asked about the reunion Phil said:

It's not an exercise in nostalgia, the time just seems right. Everything just seemed to fall into place.

We've got 15 years of active service, making song. If you boil that down to a 90-minute festival set you should get something thoroughly exciting from beginning to end. Let's put some fun back into it.

If they can re-create even half of what they had five years ago this is gonna go off in a big way and I for one can't wait!

I never thought I'd buy festival tickets 9 months in advance, or without knowing any of the line up but Big Chill 2009 tickets go on sale Monday 1st December, I'll be in the queue!

Big Chill, at Eastnor Park, Herefordshire, is one of the best festivals I've ever been to, the name kinda sums it up, take a nice chilled relaxed atmosphere and add some of the best contemporary music of the year all mixed up in an idyllic setting and you've got a winning combination!
